Hello, I am a Minor Black Weigela. I am best known for my extremely deep red foliage which appears black from a distance. I bloom hot pink trumpet shaped flowers in the late spring, which have a strong talent for attracting birds and butterflies into your yard. I have a smaller and more compact shape, making me the perfect choice for a smaller garden space, or as the thriller plant in a spiller-thriller-filler container combination. I am a low maintenance shrub, only requiring pruning after I am done flowering to make sure none of my current season's beautiful flowers are removed. I am extremely adaptable, will thrive in any dry or moist soil type, and I am even tolerant of urban pollution - you can plant me right in the city! I am happiest, healthiest and most beautiful when I am planted in an area where I can soak up sunlight all day long.
