Hi, I'm Heavy Metal Blue Switch Grass. Like my name suggests, I'm best known for my steel blue grassy leaves, which bloom plumes of rose flowers in the summer. Not only am I striking in a summer garden, as a bonus my foliage shifts to a deep orange in the fall, making me a perfect choice to transition your garden from summer to fall. I am low maintenance, and while I have a preference for alkaline soils, I am not very particular to soil and thrive in both dry and moist locations. I am considered to be drought tolerant, and I am a great choice for a low-water garden or xeriscope application. I am happiest, healthiest and most beautiful when mass planted in a very sunny area.
