Hello! I'm a Green Pillar Pin Oak, best known for my tight columnar shape and striking height, which is sure to demand second glances to any yard or landscape. I have elegant deep green foliage throughout the season, which shifts to a magnificent red in the fall. I require occasional maintenance and upkeep to keep me beautiful, but I don't require much pruning except to remove dieback. I can be a little picky when it comes to soil, and while I am not particular to any type of soil, I have a preference for acidic soil and may experience yellowing if planted in alkaline soils. I am happiest, healthiest and most beautiful when I am grown in full sunlight and my soil is kept moist!

Green Pillar Oak, a deciduous tree, prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Regular watering is essential during dry periods. Pruning should be minimal and mainly focused on removing dead branches. This oak variety features a columnar growth habit, making it an excellent choice for narrow spaces or to create vertical accents in the landscape. It provides attractive foliage and enhances the overall aesthetics of the garden.

Watering
Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry, ensuring even moisture without overwatering. Most plants prefer deep, infrequent watering to encourage strong root growth. Avoid waterlogged soil by using well-draining soil and pots with drainage holes.
Soil
Choose a well-draining soil that suits your plant’s needs, ensuring it provides proper nutrients and aeration. For most plants, a high-quality triple mix—blending topsoil, compost, and peat or loam—offers a balanced foundation. Avoid heavy, compacted soils that retain excess moisture, which can lead to root rot.
Fertilizer
Feed with a balanced fertilizer as needed, following label instructions, or contact our team for guidance.
Pruning
Prune regularly to remove dead or damaged growth, maintain shape, and promote healthy, vigorous new growth. Use clean, sharp tools and trim just above a node or bud for best results.
