The President Clematis

• Watering: The President Clematis requires consistent moisture, but not waterlogged soil. Water the plant deeply once a week during the growing season, more frequently during hot, dry weather.
• Maintenance: The President Clematis needs support for its twining stems, such as a trellis, fence, or arbor.
• Pruning: In-season Pruning, The President Clematis blooms on new growth, so prune it back in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Cut back last year's growth to two or three buds above the ground or to a strong set of lateral buds. End-of-season Pruning, in late fall, after the plant has finished blooming, prune back any remaining stems to the base. This will help prevent disease and encourage healthy new growth in the spring.
• (Optional):Fertilize in early spring and again in mid-summer. Use a fertilizer with an NPK ratio of 10-10-10 or 12-12-12, or one specifically formulated for flowering plants.

Planting trees or plants is easy! First, begin by digging a hole that's twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep. Place the tree or plant in the hole and add some bonemeal fertilizer. Backfill with fresh soil if needed and water thoroughly. Water regularly until roots are established to keep the plant healthy. Enjoy your new tree or plant!
