Hick's Yew

• Watering: Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. After the first year, Hicks Yew is drought-tolerant and does not need frequent watering.
• Maintenance: Remove any dead, diseased, or damaged branches and wear gloves when handling the plant, as all parts of the yew plant are toxic if ingested.
• Pruning: In season pruning is not usually necessary for Hicks Yew, but you can trim it to shape it during the growing season. The best time for pruning is late winter or early spring, before new growth begins. Use clean, sharp pruning shears and make cuts just above a healthy bud or branch.
• (Optional):Fertilize using a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring, and follow the package instructions for the recommended amount to use.

Planting trees or plants is easy! First, begin by digging a hole that's twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep. Place the tree or plant in the hole and add some bonemeal fertilizer. Backfill with fresh soil if needed and water thoroughly. Water regularly until roots are established to keep the plant healthy. Enjoy your new tree or plant!
