Ostrich Fern (Fiddlehead)

• Watering: Ostrich ferns prefer consistently moist soil. Water deeply once a week, or more frequently if the soil starts to dry out. Make sure to water the soil, not the foliage, to avoid fungal growth.
• Maintenance: Ostrich ferns are hardy and low maintenance, and do not require much attention. Remove any dead or damaged fronds as they appear.
• Pruning: Cut back the fronds to the ground after the first frost, or when they turn yellow and die back naturally.
• (Optional):Ostrich ferns do not require fertilizer, but will benefit from a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in the spring.

Planting trees or plants is easy! First, begin by digging a hole that's twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep. Place the tree or plant in the hole and add some bonemeal fertilizer. Backfill with fresh soil if needed and water thoroughly. Water regularly until roots are established to keep the plant healthy. Enjoy your new tree or plant!
