Planting Guide
-
Choose the right location
Peppers love the sun and require a good 6 to 8 hours of it. They need well-drained soil that's rich in organic matter, with a pH around 6.2 to 7.0. Regular watering is important, but be careful not to overwater as peppers are sensitive to waterlogging. A slow-release fertilizer applied at the time of planting and a little extra when the fruit sets can go a long way. Stake taller varieties or those with heavy fruit. Watch for pests like aphids and treat them early. -
Prepare an appropriate hole
Choose a pot that is 1-2 times larger than the current pot, ensuring there is adequent drainage to prevent waterlogging roots. Plan on repotting every 3-5 years. -
Use fertile soil
Choose soil rich in nutrients and with good drainage to support root growth. -
Plant at the correct depth
Plant at the same depth as in the pot, keeping the top of the root ball level with the soil. -
Care and watering
Water the plant appropriately, keeping the soil moist but not too wet.
